Practitioners, Reflexologists: If you are not prepared to face the new reflexology era with science-based information, how will you answer to a new and savvy market, wanting real answers? When the doors open for you to lecture, teach or discuss, what new information will you bring that is cutting edge? Will you still be talking about the Egyptians…or will you be knowledgeable about the neuro-physiology of reflexology, what biopsies revealed, how science has validated the nervous system as the mechanism for reflexology?
If you are like many who are in business for yourself, the current economic climate has you looking for new ways to ‘stir up clients’ or regain momentum. You recognize some old ways of doing things aren’t working. Practitioners are saying they feel a stirring inside to create something new, a desire to make a bigger difference. But many aren’t sure where or how to start.
Re-creation is occurring on many levels both individually and globally. What looks like chaos to many - presents as opportunity to others. How can you position your business for new opportunities in the midst of these changes and shifts? For many wellness providers, it will take a mindset shift and redefining your services to capture your specific market. Identify your ideal client’s specific needs, offer solutions, solve problems and provide positive and specific outcomes that are a vibrational match. Re-create!
As we each are attempting to fulfill our missions in service, there is an energetic alignment that supports us. The Aquarian energy we are experiencing is intense and oriented toward change - both personally and globally. The signature of Aquarius is one that moves us toward a consciousness that we are all a part of the whole and it is a time to define all that we do in the context of how it benefits society.
What an opportune time for owning your own business - a tool of enterprise to create your own income and control your own outcome. As you take positive steps to identify and provide a service that fills a need, you have the ability to thrive in a climate of change.
A huge majority of Americans are oblivious to the fact that what you put in your mouth and how well-organized your home is — and especially your kitchen — can and does contribute to crippling medical problems such as heart failure, diabetes, stress, obesity, and cancer. - Cheryl Perkins
Words well spoken by Cheryl Perkins, Holistic Nutrition Consultant and Professional Organizer and owner of Creating Balance. Cheryl helps clients find balance in two critical areas in our daily life - organization and nutrition. This year instead of a resolution (that seems to fade after January), discover how to permanently overcome the chaos of being disorganized and nutritionally challenged and how they go hand in hand. Cheryl posts on her blog (www.creating-balance.net) about getting started - 2013 is a good year to clear the way for wellness:
A new resolution was ratified in November, 2012 by the National Foundation for Women Legislators that endorses the power of reflexology to support women’s health. The Reflexology Association of America (RAA) has been actively educating the NFWL for several years and this endorsement is part of a growing national recognition of the health benefits of the modality of reflexology. Excerpts from the resolution read:
WHEREAS, the efficacy of Reflexology is documented by over 300 global research studies including a 3.1 million dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NIH-NCCAM) to study the effects of Reflexology on women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy and is being considered for renewal; and
WHEREAS, the efficacy of Reflexology is documented by over 300 global research studies including a 3.1 million dollar 5 year grant in 2005 from the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute (NIH-NCI) to study the effects of Reflexology on women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy, which was renewed for 2.9 million in 2011 for a second 5 year study;
It’s Dec. 21st at 6:00pm in California and we’re still here. I just heard the newscaster say, ‘well it appears that the Mayan calendar is wrong…the world did not end today as predicted.’ And so goes the evening news—millions making decisions based on reliable journalism and the next disturbing media blitz.
Clearly, we are living in the most potent of times and at a crossroads. The Hopi elders tell us we are in the time of getting our lives in order, of clearing up issues around the relations in life.
On my recent trip to Chicago I had a full 5 days ahead with a lecture, hosting a two-day seminar for Dr. Manzanares from Spain, teaching my own workshop and a fun day planned to do Chicago. I was in for a surprise visit that altered my plans.
I flew in on a Thursday night and woke up next morning, excited about the lecture that day for the Reflexology Association of Illinois Conference. My surprise visitor who woke up in bed with me? Laryngitis!
