Reflexology Benefits Recognized by Women Legislators

A new resolution was ratified in November, 2012 by the National Foundation for Women Legislators that endorses the power of reflexology to support women’s health. The Reflexology Association of America (RAA) has been actively educating the NFWL for several years and this endorsement is part of a growing national recognition of the health benefits of the modality of reflexology. Excerpts from the resolution read: 

WHEREAS, the efficacy of Reflexology is documented by over 300 global research studies including a 3.1 million dollar grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NIH-NCCAM) to study the effects of Reflexology on women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy and is being considered for renewal; and
WHEREAS, the efficacy of Reflexology is documented by over 300 global research studies including a 3.1 million dollar 5 year grant in 2005 from the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute (NIH-NCI) to study the effects of Reflexology on women with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy, which was renewed for 2.9 million in 2011 for a second 5 year study;

The End or The Beginning?

It’s Dec. 21st at 6:00pm in California and we’re still here. I just heard the newscaster say, ‘well it appears that the Mayan calendar is wrong…the world did not end today as predicted.’ And so goes the evening news—millions making decisions based on reliable journalism and the next disturbing media blitz.    

Clearly, we are living in the most potent of times and at a crossroads. The Hopi elders tell us we are in the time of getting our lives in order, of clearing up issues around the relations in life.

5 Things I Gained From Losing My Voice

On my recent trip to Chicago I had a full 5 days ahead with a lecture, hosting a two-day seminar for Dr. Manzanares from Spain, teaching my own workshop and a fun day planned to do Chicago.  I was in for a surprise visit that altered my plans.

I flew in on a Thursday night and woke up next morning, excited about the lecture that day for the Reflexology Association of Illinois Conference.  My surprise visitor who woke up in bed with me? Laryngitis!
